As Stiggins (2001) stated, "Classroom assessment information is the essential fuel that powers the learning systems for students" (p. 18).
This Basic Concepts lesson begins by differentiating between formative and summative assessments and defining several target areas for assessments. Issues related to objectives and test reliability and validity are also included.
